You’re never too young to volunteer!

One of our volunteers brought her two under-five year old grandchildren along for a short visit, and they quickly became part of the team.

Our volunteers enjoyed answering their many thoughtful questions, including: “Most people take their shopping home in a trolley, so why do you empty it and sort it?”

Setting aside their colouring books, the youngsters then got stuck in helping to sort sweet treats from savoury bread and cake items, doing a brilliant job.

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, it was also a volunteer’s birthday, so there was cake to share all round.

Curious minds, helping hands and birthday cake... a perfect combination!
