Youngsters Come Up Trumps!
21st October 2026
It was one of those days when we thought

the donation pile couldn't possibly get any bigger... and then another bag arrived. And another. And another!
Today, pupils, families and staff from Fair Furlong Primary, St Martin's Sunshine Pre-School, St Peter's C of E Primary School and Ubley Primary School showed what community spirit looks like in action. Together they donated an incredible 493.85kg of food to help local people facing hardship.
Their generosity didn't just fill our shelves. It reminded us that kindness has no age limit.
For one teenager accompanying her mum to

collect food whilst on an inset day, we were delighted to be able to personally hand her a surprise birthday present by giving her a make-up gift bag filled with treats. Her smile and shy thank you said it all.
Once again, we are appealing for more teenage-appropriate gifts to help us bring a little extra encouragement, dignity and joy to young people when they need it most, and to ensure they feel remembered and valued on their birthdays.
Items such as toiletries gift sets, make-up, skincare products, headphones, sports accessories, craft kits, books, puzzles

and gift vouchers are always greatly appreciated.
A huge thank you to all the young people, families and school staff who contributed. Today's donations prove that when young people come together, they can make a very big impact indeed.
